General Information of BOQ
Bank of Queensland Limited (BOQ) is one of Australia's leading regional banks, first established in 1874. In 1942, it merged with a number of other financial institutions in Queensland to become a trading bank. In 1982, the Savings Bank of Queensland was incorporated as a wholly-owned subsidiary, and in 1985, the first regional branches were opened in Cairns and Townsville. In 2010, Bank of Queensland acquired the Australia and New Zealand division of CIT GROUP Inc, a leading provider of sell-side finance to small and medium-sized businesses. In 2014, Bank of Queensland acquired Investec Bank (Australia) Limited (now BOQ Specialist Bank Limited), including the specialist finance business and the asset finance and leasing business. So far, the Bank of Queensland now has over 160 branches in Australia.
