Inspection Reason

The inspection team continued its survey campaign as part of the efforts to inspect the integrity and authenticity condition within the forex brokerage sector. For this session, the inspection team went to Australia to visit TransferWise. 

Office

According to the regulation details it provided, TransferWise’s office in Australia is at Level 40, 1 Macquarie Place, SYDNEY.  

According to the address, the inspection team successfully found this relatively new office building. 

This is an office and shopping complex adjacent to the Sydney waterfront with a very prominent geological location, therefore very easy for the surveyors to find. 

The survey staff entered the building and examined the floor directory sign. However, they found no information about TransferWise. They had planned to find out more and take more pictures, but were not permitted to do so, so the survey had to stop here.

Conclusion

A field survey according to the address where it claims to be located did not find TransferWise’s physical presence. The broker claims to hold a full license from the Australian ASIC (456295)，which had been canceled.
